Tony is a traditional conservative
He believes in:
- Freedom of speech;
- Low taxation and a small state;
- Individual responsibility;
- A free NHS;
- A welfare system that protects the needy but doesn’t penalise the careful.
About Tony
Tony is an experienced local councillor, first being elected to the London Borough of Lambeth in 1982.
He has been a member of Buckinghamshire Council since its formation in April 2020, currently representing the ward of Terriers and Amersham Hill. Prior to the creation of the new unitary authority, Tony was a member of Wycombe District Council since 1999.
He has held many senior positions on all the councils including having been deputy leader of Wycombe Council.
In 2003-4 he was Mayor of High Wycombe and in 2018-19 was the Chairman of Wycombe District Council.
In his business life he has been a microbiologist, an I.T. Consultant and run his own small business. He has worked in both the private and public sectors.
Tony has been selected by local Conservatives to fight next May’s Council Election.
Tony, along with Sarfaraz Raja (Saf) have been selected to stand in May’s Council Election for the Terriers and Amershan Hill ward.
Tony has represented the ward since 1999 and Saf since 2015. Both have been Mayor of High Wycombe, Tony in 2003-4 and Saf in 2017-8.
After their selection Saf said “I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue to represent the residents of Terriers and Amersham Hill and work to improve the area for everyone. Tony added “it has been an honour being the councillor for this area for the past 25 years and I look forward to continuing working with Saf to campaign for improvements in the ward, in High Wycombe, and across Buckinghamshire.
Between then, the two have experience of all areas of the Council’s work. They have worked to oppose inappropriate planning applications in the ward. Terriers and Amersham Hill ward has limited green space and they are determined to fight any inappropriate planning applications that may come forward because of the new Governments change to the planning system.
